New Premier Event Celebrates Achievement Across Chester County’s Diverse Business Landscape
The Chester County Chamber of Business & Industry (CCCBI) proudly announces its inaugural Business Excellence Awards luncheon, set for Wednesday, May 7, 2025, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at The Desmond Hotel in Malvern. This groundbreaking event honors six exceptional member businesses that have demonstrated outstanding leadership, community impact, and industry excellence.
“We’ve combined two of our most popular and meaningful events—our Small Business Awards and our Women Influencing Business Awards—into one powerful celebration of business excellence,” said Laura Manion, President and CEO of CCCBI. “The result is what you see here today: a bigger, bolder, more unified event that reflects the full strength, diversity, and spirit of our business community.”
At the event, Laura Manion emphasized that the Chamber has created a more inclusive platform that authentically captures the interconnected nature of Chester County’s business ecosystem. She underscored that the Business Excellence Awards celebrate achievement across all sectors, highlighting how the region’s diverse business landscape collectively strengthens the local economy. CCCBI designed this approach to recognize excellence wherever it appears—from startups to established enterprises, across industries and ownership models—reflecting the Chamber’s commitment to serving as a true business partner for the entire community.
The awards ceremony will recognize six distinguished honorees who represent the breadth and depth of Chester County’s business ecosystem:
Female Business Leader of the Year: Meridith Coyle
Culinary pioneer and wellness guru Meridith Coyle has built a reputation for creating delicious and healthy comfort food long before it became mainstream. As CEO of the successful ANEU Kitchens and ANEU Catering, she’s expanded her influence as a sought-after speaker, educator, and healthy-living advocate. Her newest venture includes an ANEU café at the historic Maurice Stephens House at Valley Forge Historic Park.
Community Partner of the Year: Pennsylvania American Water
As the largest investor-owned water utility in Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania American Water serves approximately 2.3 million people. The company plans to invest $450-600 million annually to upgrade water and wastewater systems throughout the state. Their generous support of CCCBI has enabled the Chamber to sustain its Foundation, Youth Leadership Program, and historic headquarters in East Goshen Park.
Minority-Owned Business of the Year: OYL Consulting
Founded in November 2023, OYL Consulting specializes in leadership and wellness training for corporations, organizations, and educational institutions. Their focus on emotional intelligence, mindset transformation, and leadership development has quickly established them as an impactful presence in Chester County’s business landscape.
Nonprofit of the Year: Handi-Crafters Opportunity Center
For more than 60 years, Handi-Crafters has served individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities through vocational training, skill development, and pathways to competitive employment. Their comprehensive support services significantly enhance the quality of life for hundreds of people in the community each year.
Rising Star of the Year: Katie LaDow
As a partner in the litigation department at Lamb McErlane, Katie LaDow represents individuals, businesses, and municipalities in various legal matters. Her dedication extends beyond her practice as she serves on multiple associations and foundation boards, establishing herself as an emerging leader in Chester County.
Small Business of the Year: Valley Creek Productions
Since founding Valley Creek Productions in 2005, Justin Chan has completed over 500 weddings, events, and corporate videography projects. His commitment to embracing new technology and techniques has kept his company at the forefront of the industry, serving communities throughout Chester County and beyond.
“These awards celebrate leadership, commitment, and the lasting impact our members make across industries and communities,” Manion explained. “Each honoree has driven our region forward in some capacity. We have entrepreneurs, innovators, nonprofits, and true partners to the Chamber and our mission making a difference in our community. Each honoree was carefully considered due to the powerful nominations sent in by those who have seen their impact first-hand.”
A unique aspect of this inaugural celebration is the recognition of long-standing Chamber members. CCCBI will present Member Milestone awards to businesses that have maintained their membership for 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30+ years.
“We also hope that the recognition of our Members who have been with us for 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30+ years will inspire new members to stay active and re-ignite these long-term members who continue to support our chamber community,” added Manion.
The positive response from the business community has been overwhelming, suggesting a bright future for this new initiative. “After the success of this inaugural Business Excellence Awards luncheon, there is a very good chance that we will turn this event we took a chance on into an annual celebration for our member businesses of all sizes, from all backgrounds and from all industries,” Manion concluded.
